Cheriya Kalavoor

The national highway 47 thats runs north-south cuts Kalavoor into two. From Kalvoor ride hardly a mile towards the north on NH 47 and you  reach this small settlement – Cheriya Kalavoor. The word ‘cheriya’ in malayalam means small.

Ayyappa Temple

Cheriya kalavoor is famaous for it’s Ayyappa Temple. The temple is on the left side of NH 47. During the Ayyappa Pilgrimage season, the temple is mostly crowded with pilgrims.

There’s also a place called Valiya Kalavoor which is towards the south of Kalavoor.

Valiya Kalavoor

Start your journey from Alappuzha (also known as Alleppey) towards the north along NH 47. After about 7KM, you find this place called Valiya Kalavoor.The word ‘valiya’ in malayalam means big.

SriKrishna Temple

Valiya kalavoor is famous for its SriKrishna Temple which is adjacent to the highway. You will not miss the large temple pond  filled with lotus flowers on the left.

There is also a place called Cheriya Kalavoor along the highway.
